Title I is a federally funded program to offer supplemental instruction for students who need such assistance to be academically successful. Millville Area School District offer supplemental instruction in math and reading in Kindergarten through 6th Grade. Because Millville Elementary School has a school-wide program, all students are potentially eligible for assistance. However, preference will be given to those identified through the process described in this brochure.
All students who score Basic or Below Basic on the PSSA or other diagnostic tests will be screened for Title I reading services. Students are then provided with services using their diagnostic test results, PSSA scores, and performance within the current reading series.
Parent involvement is an important part of the Title I program. Parent support in reviewing skills and encouraging their child can make all the difference. A home/school compact has been developed for the District which shows the importance of everyone cooperating to develop your child’s skills.
During the year we will have scheduled parent meetings. Parent conferences will be scheduled in November and April. You may also request a meeting with the staff at any time during the year by contacting the teacher.
Parent resources are available in the Elementary Building lobby on the resource table.
